When you access our website, information is automatically stored in server log files, including browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of server request, and IP address. If you contact us via email or forms, we store your request including the contact details provided to process the request and follow-up questions. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where applicable, pre-contractual measures (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We delete this data when storage is no longer necessary or restrict processing if legal retention obligations apply.
When you subscribe to updates, we collect your email address and, optionally, additional information required to deliver the requested communications. We use this data exclusively for the subscription service. You can revoke your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our messages or by contacting us directly. The processing is based on your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
We use Umami, an open-source web analytics tool, to measure the reach of this website and to improve it. We host Umami ourselves on a server in Germany. The analytics script and the usage data are delivered through this website's own address (the path /stats) and forwarded from there to our self-hosted Umami server. No third-party analytics provider receives the data, and the data is not sold or used for advertising.
Umami sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device for analytics. It does not track you across websites or devices and does not build a persistent visitor profile: visits are distinguished by an anonymised identifier derived from a hash that includes a rotating salt. Your IP address is used only transiently for this purpose and for a coarse country lookup and is not stored. The following data is collected: page URL and title, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, country, time of visit, and named interaction events such as clicks on certain buttons. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, your visit is not counted.
Because nothing is stored on or read from your device beyond what your browser transmits anyway, and the data is not tied to an identifiable person, we do not show a consent banner. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring reach and improving this website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to this processing at any time (Article 21 GDPR) using the opt-out switch below. The opt-out is stored in your browser’s local storage under the entry “umami.disabled” and applies to this browser only.
